CEDAR SPRINGS: Great Horned owl rescued from soccer net

CEDAR SPRINGS POST: ‘The bird was quite calm and probably had been trapped a good portion of the day.’

Residents in Cedar Springs, about 20 minutes north of Grand Rapids, rescued a Great Horned owl from a soccer net recently. The bird was reportedly quite calm and flew off a few minutes after being cut free. In other owl-related news, a snowy owl was spotted for the first time in Cheboygan by a reader of the Cheboygan News for the first time in three years. Take a look at the picture:
